When the classes with Lorcan were finished we were brought to the Mullingar Arts Centre to hear the Army Band in concert. Mr. Warburton and Ms. O’Connell came with us. We had a great day & we say thanks to Lorcan for coming to our school and giving us the music lessons.
For the past six weeks third & fourth class have been learning all about the orchestra, woodwind and percussion instruments with Lorcan from the Mullingar Arts Centre.
Here is what they had to say:
Mikey – “I learned how to breathe properly and play the drums”
Philip – “We learned to use our diaphragm”
Aine – ” I learned how to read musical notes”
Killian – “I learned how to hold a trumpet”
Muireann – “I learned how to hold a drumstick properly
3rd & 4th class will attend a concert performed by the Army Band on the 7th November in Mullingar.
