Frank Warburton – An Appreciation

Frank Warburton – An Appreciation

Bhí brón agus uaigneas orainn go léir  Dé Sathairn an ceathrú lá de Dheireadh Fomhaír augus an Nuacht ag teacht isteach go raibh Frank Warburton imithe ar shlí na fírinne.  Mar sin féin beidh muid buíoch, beannacthach fósta go raibh aithne againn air.

We in Kilcleagh N.S wish to acknowledge with deep appreciation the long association Frank had with our school.

He first joined the Board of Management on 15th December 1997 and his last meeting was 26th October 2023.  Over this remarkable 26 year period he represented the school community in several capacities – as a Parents’ representative, a Patron’s representative and a Community representative.

Frank approached each role with warmth, good humour and common sense.  During his tenure he was involved with many significant developments – including a major extension, replacement of the school roof and other improvements.  He had a huge love for GAA and was always supportive of our teams in Cumann na mBunscol.  We had some great outings to Cusack Park!

Over the years we had many very joyful occasions, but we also had our fair share of tragedy. Frank celebrated with us in the good times and supported us in some of our more difficult times.
For that we will always be grateful.

Frank’s friendly and affable nature made him a joy to work with.  In all his years on our BOM there was never a cross word – only co-operation, positivity, support and dedication.

On a personal note I knew Frank not only in my role as Principal, but as a great neighbour and valued friend.  I can honestly say I never walked away from him without a smile on my face!

We are deeply saddened by his passing but profoundly grateful for the wonderful legacy he leaves behind at Kilcleagh NS.

Go raibh suaimhneas síoraí Air

M O’C
