Artist in Residence – Recycling Art Project

We have recently completed an Arts & Crafts module with Artist in Residence Rosemarie Langtry.

Before we began we decided that given the huge amounts of plastic contaminating our earth we would try and recycle some of it.

Everybody collected plastic bottles and we agreed these would be our raw materials.

Junior & Senior Infants made light catchers and cute little bottle people.

1st & 2nd class make a wonderful bouquet of plastic flowers

3rd to 6th class made a message board which is displayed in the yard – it uses Castledaly colours and spells out the words “Cara” “learn” ” fun” and “sport.”

We thank Rosemarie for her time and attention to this module & bringing it to a successful conclusion.

We are extremely grateful to Westmeath County Council Arts Officer, Miriam Mulrennan, who approved our application for funding this project. We hope to continue to work with her in the future. We have some photos of the project as it evolved and invite you to have a look.
