Clonmacnoise Field Trip

Clonmacnoise Field Trip

On Tuesday the 14th of October we went to the ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise. We were split up into eight groups: Rubbings, sketching, photographs, bullet points, recount, maths quiz, quiz and site map. First we watched an audio visual, then we got a tour and then we started our group work. I was in the photo group, and we made very good use of our time, taking a few good ones rather than lots of, as one might say, ‘ish’ pictures. At about 2pm we got back on the bus and headed back to school.

On Wednesday we put the good photos on to a PowerPoint and they’re now ready for display. I’d like to thank the teachers for organising this brilliant trip. We’d also like to thank Mary, Paulette, Maeve and Marie for helping us with our group work and also helping to keep us safe on the site.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable trip and I’d definitely like to do something similar again. (C. O’Brien).
