Deirdre Connolly – An Appreciation on your Retirement

Deirdre Connolly, A.K.A. Mrs.O’Connolly to the pupils, first came to Kilcleagh N.S, Castledaly in 1994. During the following 25 yrs she taught 3rd/4th class and 5th/6th class before moving to Special Ed.

She also acted efficiently as staff rep on successive boards of management. During that time she became firmly embedded in the life of our school and is extremely popular.
Deirdre is a most generous person. She has showered us all with her time, her expertise, her energy, her friendship and her unfailing good humour!

She worked tirelessly to improve and develop teaching and learning in our school, digital learning being of particular interest to her. Deirdre was a supportive, helpful and positive colleague and could always be relied on for sound, measured and invaluable advice.

We will miss her hugely, the staffroom won’t be the same without her hearty laugh and the goodies she regularly brought, our poor laminator will get a breather too!

All associated with Kilcleagh N.S. wish her a long, happy and fulfilled retirement. Go raibh míle maith agat Deirdre.
