On 8th June 2010, the Minister for Education and Skills Mary Coughlan visited our school to officially open the new extension and car park at our school. Mass was held in St. Ciaran’s Church and afterward, each class entertained the public with poetry, song and dance. James Donoghue, our music teacher, was also on hand to accompany us. The Minister made a lovely speech and was presented with a lovely piece of stained glass artwork from local artist, Pat O’Brien. Pat’s grandson, Conor O’Brien, presented this to the Minister. Everyone was invited back to the school to cut the ribbon and hoist our new Green Flag. A lovely reception was held in the school for everyone, thanks to the help of many parents, grandparents and community members.
