Summertime Proms at Moate Community School

On Thursday 7th May a representative group of 11 pupils from 5th & 6th classes, Christopher K, Jay L, Aoife B, Katie G, Rachel T, Ciara N, Sarah N, Anna S, Caoimhe McD, Adam K & Oisín E, took part in the Summertime Proms concert in Moate Community School. This was the first time our school has been involve in the proms. We were invited to play with the MCS trad group.

We played three pieces on our own – “Roisín Dubh,” “The South Wind” and  “The Masons Apron.”

Then we joined in with the Moate pupils for “Ó Ró Sé do bheath abhaile” and two lively polkas.

We had a great time and felt we were wonderful ambassadors for our school.

We are grateful to Ms. O’Connell and especially our music teacher James Donohue for their help.

Have a look at our photos and  listen to us in action.
